I want to put some type of large plants in my aquarium, I'd like something tough and that grows quite high, My tank is 71cms tall so something that will grow up to that length would be good, Something like in the amazon rivers, I have a large wavemaker to send a current to move the plants/reeds so it will look quite nice, Like they do in their natural habitat.

I have coral sand mixed with playsand as my substrate so the plant needs to be able to live in it, Amazon sword plant cannot live in coral sand, So does anyone know what i can use?

I will use large rocks around the base to stop the oscars moving the plants and uprooting them, Although if they decide to bite them then there's nothing i can do about that lol, So some type of tough plant would be good.

Any recommendations?

Cheers.

Yeah, had the same idae about stones around my plants to keep them from uprooting....Did you know fish work together to thrash your tank?
Only found out when the whole bunch was moving the stones TOGETHER!
i put stones in they never could move alone, but saw them going in and move it!
My only good plants are plastic plants, hanging.
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!

I will only have 2 oscars and even 2 full size ones wouldn't be able to move the large rocks i'll be using
