I was reading in the water chemistry section about nitrate/nitrite .. Anyway I couldn't find the page but there was Perticular plant that you keep in a pot and it sits on top of your tank, not sure weather I red it right but , you let the leaves/ roots sit in the water ,can anyone verify such a plant?? Sorry in advance if the question is a little vauge ..I do believe it was good as far as evening out the nitrate/rite levels .
From memory the plant looked more vine like and hangs down..

not sure about that one, but after a bit of research im going to be putting Anubias and Java Moss in my own aquarium. it should help reduce the need for water changes a great deal.

if money is tight, you could try Aponogeton, they sell it at walmart for just a few dollars for a pack of bulbs which grow readily. check the live fish section, its in the accessories amongst the food and filters ect.
