See I for one like the still non-blurred background. But then there's billions of people in the world so you're likely to run into billions of opinions hehe :silly:

the lens I used this time was my Nikkor 16-85mm it has 'VR' (Nikon's name for IS used by Canon) It has settings for normal and active, I just kept it on normal.

I suppose the best way to get better at anything is to just get out there and do it, if you make a mistake along the way, you identify where you went wrong then improve it the next time.

Active VR should be equivalent to Canon IS mode 2 I think.
Personally when panning I don't use mode 2, I just turn IS off and rely on myself, I am happy with the proportion of sharp pics I have. For fast moving cars it should be even easier than bikers or people running

That fire twirling looks cool on camera. Light painting I think they call it. Iv seen ones where people write there name or draw interesting shapes and the light source 'burns' onto the image.
That's one thing I will have to give a go at.

Some nice photos in there.
Here are some of mine, I have a photo gallery you can visit: www.virindi.com/Gallery
I like clean pictures, therefore I trash at least 80% of my shots. I am currently trying to get one foot into professional photography; I get tired of seeing people making money doing things that I think look terrible and call themselves photographs.

Virindi replied the topic: Re: Photography

Thanks, no it's 1 raw with heavy processing to cover a high dynamic range, I follow the same method for most of my photos.
I rarely do true HDR. :)
