Have we got any radio hams or cb'ers on here? Just wondering, it is also one of my passions, amateur radio and citizens band, although I haven't done much of the latter because it's completely dead nowadays. There's loads of stuff on YouTube which is quite interesting. It seems that it's still alive and kicking in North America

we use cb's alot in the tractors as alot of the time were wokring in the same fields and either get bored and fancy a chat or to ask what the f*** the other person is doing lol

alot of the lads at uni have them in their cars but all we hear is lorry drivers complaining about the traffic

back in the early 90s there used to be a guy called Jerry who was a farmer who used to be on the CB most days when he was on his tractor. He used to call himself, calfbucket I often wonder if he is still around, haven't heard him for years

managing a commercial building with a lot o security concern and technical assistance
needed at all time, any Property Manager needs a network of short wave band width...
i am "papa mike" to all of my staff.... however, due to unfriendly policy of our
stupid and corrupt government, all cb users in our place are illegal.

I used to have a ham radio license when I was younger. My middle school science teacher got me into it but I haven't used it for years...and my license is expired so I couldn't now anyway!

lol back in the late 80's early 90's my brother was well into CB. He had a a few set ups but he loved his cobra am(i know i know should have been fm) talked to people all over the world. he had the highest Ariel in the world i think. looked like eiffel tower )))). i had one for a few yrs and got to admit it was better than forums )))) fm didn't really cut it, i had fm and could get 20miles at best. my brothers set had more uppers and lowers than I had channels and could reach many hundreds if not thousands of miles.

I was hoping that we would have a radio ham on here. It would be fun to hook up on the airwaves. I know one member has got a license but haven't seen him on in a while. Funnily enough he took his license after he knew I had one, his late dad was a radio ham and I think he had his old callsign in his signature which is how we got talking about it. I urged him to take his ticket and he went away and did it. I hope I see them on again soon.
