OK, here is the latest vid of the bubbas, just think, two weeks before this was shot they were eggs on a rock.
Some interesting observations. The albino ones hang out together at the surface and the dark ones hang out together lower down the tank. I guess that is a natural selection thing because in a river that is where they would be better camoflagued, but I want to know how the hell they know what color they are?????
I give them baby brine shrimp but I throw in a half cube of adult brine shrimp too. The larger brine shrimp are bigger than the smaller fry but they have a great time playing tug of war ripping the brine shrimp apart...the apple does not fall far from the tree. They get about 5 feeds a day and 2 x 20% pwc to compensate for the fact that I am giving them alot of small food. I keep the bottom clear of gravel so that I can vacuum it clean each time and I have a canister filter and a sponge filter going. I am keeping them at 27 - 28 degrees celcius and they have a nice air stone when they want to surf the bubbles.
I only lose about 2 or 3 a day and you can generally pick which ones the day before. First it was the deformed ones, then it was the really small ones and now it is the stragglers who go off by themselves and don't join the school finding food. I guess there has to be some survival of the fittest going on in the tank to get a healthy batch at the end. Anyway, here are my little cuties.
