This was certainly beginners luck and possibly a fluke. My second lot of eggs - same dad different mum - did not fare so well. There was a large proportion of bad eggs and even with the meth blue the fungus went out of control on day 3. Those that did wriggle off the rock got swamped in it. I took out the rock as soon as there were no more wrigglers and kept taking out the infected eggs / fry but in the end I only had one alive. I put it in with Mum and Dad and I don't know if it survived...probably not. So that was 200+ on attempt one and zero on attempt two...same set up, same water, same meth blue, same process.....Still, I'm not really that upset because I just got the first batch out of the night feed and let's face it, I have more than enough Oscars at the moment!!!!!
We all still have these little beauties to look at and I am stoked to be sharing them with you all. You Oscar people are just lovely.
