That's great. Difficult to tell from the photo but what colour are the eggs. Are the Oscars swimming around in circles oxygenating them with their two pectoral fins? if this is the first time I have laid eggs, they may not be successful, it does often take a while for them to get it right. However, will have to wait and see what happens in your situation. My female laid eggs the other day but I don't think the male is ready, if indeed the male is in there at the moment

yes this is the first time that they have laid so i'm not expecting perfect results from them. the eggs are a light beige in colour and there is always one of them hovering overtop of the slate at all times. the other seems to keeping the rest of the fish away from the area.
now come the waiting to see what might develop

well it will certainly be interesting, if they do hatch, make sure you get loads of photos for the website. When I get time, I'm totally giving the website a facelift. So I'm going to be doing a new photo gallery where registered members can create their own album to put their photos in

This has happened a few times to me... I was thinking of the next time that mine mate, to remove the eggs..fan them by pump and put met blue in to help stop fungus.. but when i watch my o's they will go mad if i put my hand in, so I am still unsure as to what i'll do if they do mate again??? i would like for them to do it all them selfs.

well two monthd later and i found another batch of eggs when i got home from work. unfortunetly i have still to find out which one of my tigers actually laid the eggs but they definetly look beige in colour. this time they laid them on the bottom of my tank which is blue so the colour is easy to identify. hopefully this time they might actually hatch.i'll keep you all posted.

sorry. has happened to me at least 7 or more times.longest mine have lasted was 4 days.. Its disapointing, I am convinced you need just the pair and no tank mates as i think they get stressed at other fish getting the eggs so eat them. good news you have a pair so there is hope and more to come. A few of use have been there and now its whos will hatch.I was told by a oscar breeder that if I wanted my eggs to hatch i would need to adjust my PH, this is around 7. but for the life of me I cant remember if it was up or down. I think it was down?? as I think he said something about peat?? i'll try to find out but i am sure one of you will tell me. )))
