TOPIC: free fish

free fish 3 years, 4 months ago #21285

hi all, 70 hrs after laying half of my eggs have hatched so when the fish are big enough to move out any member of this site is welcome to a fish or two. any advice on raising the youngsters would be appreciated. im so bleedin happy:side:

I suggest you hatch some artemia (brine shrimp) for your babies to eat once their yolk sac is done with. If you have infusoria (green water) that would work as well.

Hope others with more experience help you out. Congrats on your newborn babies!

hikari sell a product called first bites. its food for fry that is a powder. i have used it with great results along with brine shrimp until they are big enough for crushed flake food. good luck to you.

many thanks for the advice. have made a brine shrimp hatchery and filled it up ready and have also bought a product called liquifry. the parents are not eating nut being very attentive, so i am going to leave this first lot go on there own...... fingers grossed once again thankyou ian

i have used liquifry a great deal over the years with great results ..its been around for ages....i understood you need a water chiller to get brine shrimp to hatch?????i looked into it once but the price of the water chiller outweighed the rewards........
