thats a shame I hope they spawn again for you :)

also how do you get on with 3oscars as 3 is considered a bad number. What size tank have you got and have you just got oscars?

Im intrigued as I have a 3year old tiger in with 2red juvies and they are really good together but Im worried 2may pair up and bully the 3rd.

I'm living my life, but not necessarily in the right order :)

seeing the ritual footage, i can only assume they are all female....
and the reason why they co-exist with each other... i do have 3 oscars too,
2 female and one male and i need to remove the other female during spawning...
the other female tend to eat the eggs of the other after laying!

I only bought these guys nearly a month ago, they were sold as a breeding trio and all I know about them is that the guy we bought them off also bought them from someone as a breeding trio. However, he just had them in a big community tank so the other fish always ate the eggs. He said when they have had eggs he'd never actually seen them spawn but all three would always guard the eggs.
I like Oscars and thought it would be cool once we worked out which two were the pair and then separated the other one into his own tank. So as you can imagine I was quite blown away when all three started spawning together.
I agree that most likely they are all girls but hopefully I should know for sure the next time they breed. I was able to tell which two are definitely female and can identify them by the different markings near their tails.
It definitely looked like the third was a male by the pointed/skinny breeding tube and he was running over the eggs like he was fertalising them. Possibly it could be a female whose tube wasn't fully descended? It looked long enough though but maybe next time he'll start laying :P
Hopefully I'll be home to watch and can get a clearer video!

I'm not sure how old they are but they are about 27cm if that helps?

I'm proud to say that it's definitely a breeding trio :D
