If you've bred Oscars let us know about it. when did you breed them? How big was the tank? Did the eggs hatch did the fry survive? If you grew them on did you get rid of them ok? Let us know all about your spawning experiences, we'd love to here about them.

If I don't get at least one pair of breeding Oscars out of the six I have got, I shall be rather annoyed. I'm hoping to get another pair. If they breed successfully, I will probably sell them. A breeding pair of red Oscars will be quite sought-after I would have thought.

Keeping fish is only as hard as you choose to make it.

Did the two females go through any kind of breeding ritual routine?

Ive had that happen. I had a group of six oscars that i grew on once and they all turned out to be females. Luckily i had so many large ones that i managed to pair all of them up at one time or another. Once one of them spawned laying eggs all over the tank including the back piece of glass.

They did all the things you would expect a breeeding pair to do... except actually lay eggs. That is until three years later. When it happened I was super stoked! But the eggs never developed. I was pretty disappointed. The very next time they layed eggs, the other Oscar was laying them. That explained that.
