i need help.
they are doing the ritualles and all but would a big age difference matter...
im not sure but the one looks like its 1-2 years and the other one looks like 4+

As long as they are both sexually mature, they will breed if they are male and female. However, not all Oscars will pair up with each other. From my experience, if you have a male and female only, they will pair up. You have to be sure you do have a male and female. Over the years, I have observed Oscars shovelling gravel, cleaning rocks and they have never laid eggs. Just because they do it, it doesn't guarantee you are going to have eggs come along. Try keeping your water fairly warm. Carry out a few extra water changes. My Oscars used to spawn just after water changes. Having said this, we have to go back to the fact that you may not have a male and a female.

in my opinion age would not be afactor at ages you stated. It would be more about if they accept echother or not. kind of like primates . of coarse theh would'nt be so particular??

Oscars will spawn At around 15-18 months old. Many poeple say a year because that is how long they have had them but they probably bought the oscars at two inches and so they were already 3-4 months old. What is essential for Oscars to spawn is the right conditions.
