I am new to Oscars laying eggs. I have 2 Red Oscars, 2 Tiger Albinos and a Tiger Oscar. One of my Reds is laying eggs, will the other red fertilize the eggs or will the other types fertilize them as well? Will a female Oscar lay eggs if there is no male in the tank? My female eats and eats more then the others, does that mean that shes getting ready to lay soon?

firstly, welcome to the site.
2nd, you have five oscars in one tank? how big is your tank?
3) female could lay eggs even without male but no chance of
fertilization.
4) female would stop eating for a while before egg laying.
5) the presence of more than a pair in the tank could force
the parent to take down the eggs especially if they cannot
drive away tankmates.
