since the loss of my male tiger oscar there has been no attivity in my tank along the breeding lines.
well when i returned form work last night i saw much to my surprise that my female tiger has decided that my long fin might make a good mate.




the long fin is only a year old and i dont thnk that he has reached sexual maturity yet but he has gone through all the motions of breeding. now i havent seen any breeding tube out on him so he could still be a female but it is looking promising that i have a pair.

btw the eggs were not fertilized

Then a longfin must be the same kind, and longfin is just a variety?
just curious, since reds and tigers do not mingle.(they don't, do they?)

all morphs of oscar will interbreed with each other. reds tigers lutinos long fins they are all oscars just bred to have certain different colours or finnage. what oscars tend not to do often is breed with different species.
