i just got 5 young oscers 2-3 in. how old or big do thy get when thay start breeding

like 18 months, about a foot long. you dont know what you got yourself into do you? lol.

ya i know there a hard fish to manage .but i've raized tank fish for 20 plus years and my wife raised angele fish so i'm confedent and hopfull

oscars arent hard at all really... they just get big, and thats flat out not enough room for 5 oscars unless you want some battered and bloody fish because they gonna kill each other when they start getting crowded.

You are going to need a really really big tank. Trust me if 2 pair up, which would be likely if you have 5 them, to keep all of them happy without any getting beaten up your tank would be HUGE!!!!!!!!

my two are doing great now .i'm chocking it up to bad stock and a stuped mistak. no more full cleaning ,just 50% water changeand rince filter in removed tank water .test once a weak and dont feed too much.i've been reading this site. thanks for the input
