Newly born fry will be unable to eat adult food but there are nonlive foods available that contain very small particles that fry can eat.

In England they sell Liqui-fry. I think its Liqui-fry no.2 for cichlids

I meant the oscar swallowing the food, spitting the pellets out, and the babies eat the chewed pellets.

perfectly fine, they'll eat what they can get!
Best use of your pellets if the baby cleans the mess.
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!
