A friend of mine and I have bought 1 oscar each 3 month ago. Now they're 7.5 and 7 inches. First of all i was wondering if they were too young to breed. Second they're in separated tanks, my oscar is acting a bit more agressive than the one of my friend. His oscar is always down like if he was building a nest. So i wondered if mine was a male and the one of my friend was a female. So if its ok for the 2 parts above, i was also wondering about wich one to move in, femal in male tank or vice versa or simply set up another tank for them...

Thanks in advance.

7" sounds to soon for them to be ready to breed. 3months? what size was they when you got them?

as for putting them together to see if you can get a mating pair, this will be try and see I'm arrayed. be ready to remove if they don't get along but again you may even find 2 males get on well. 3 together will end in fight most likely. you need around 125g for 2 oscars.

i agree with marcus, it def seems to early for yr o's to be breeding bud

if u r going to introduce the two be careful as there will def b alot of fighting if its two males, so just keep the spare tank spare just incase
