So, I woke up the other morning to find eggs, with Rex (obviously now Regina) guarding the slate with her life - especially against Tex (the male).

Unfortunatly the eggs barely made it 24 hours before they were devoured.

Can someone please tell me how often they spawn?

Not that I am overly keen on baby oscars, but if I could get a couple I would be pretty happy with it.. I know for a fact that my LFS would be happy to take some if I had some.

BTW, I have a 6' tank, with 5 silver dollars, 2 oscars and a couple of angle fish.

congrats! i know how it feels to have such an experience.... but if you wish
to have fries or save some, you need to check what you have;


breeding needs to be alone, no tankmates. a single angel fish could take a load
of fries. i have that experience.

and a healthy pair could spawn regularly on a monthly basis... there are times
also that they laid eggs every after 15 days.

totally agree with paul about other tnak mates tho if yr wnating 2 keep them then u will have to move them to a other tank for the time being.

if u can get mroe than one of those little guys to survive ull b on the top of our oscar breeding leader board!
