Now I know my photos arent the best, but you can see white spots around his mouth , and a small white lump just before his dorsal fin.

Water is all good, ammo, nitrite and rate, though the ph is hovering around 6.

These have come on within the last 2 hours or so.

I've bunged in some Melafix as a stop gap, before any further action is taken

Over to you guys

Cheers
Garry

possibly, but the images do not really help to be quite honest. White spot is a fairly recognizable problem, the little white spots resemble grains of salt. Sometimes you can have just a few if the condition is in its infancy, or the fish can be absolutely pickled in them. Also, sometimes little bits of debris can attach themselves to the fishes skin which sometimes looks like spots. See what other people say.

Do you think that these spots resemble grains of salt? Whereas it is a much better photo, I couldn't be absolutely sure that this is a white spot.

also apologies for not following the recommended procedure, of course you only read these things afterwards

Ammonia 0.25
Ph 6
Nitrate 2.5
Nitrite 0
temp : 29 deg

new plants added to tank 4 days ago
water change 4 days ago 30%

fish has been happy and well since day one, tank is well established 6 months +

the only other unusual circumstance is that I had a tiler in today tiling the kitchen floor, and he did mix the tile cement in the same room as the fish tank

OFL : am not 100% sure, my guess is/was white spot but
Noddy : the Mrs agrees with you and thinks it fungal

so, the way forward? Bruce is most unhappy at his acne, and is lying down having a right old sulk about it

For an established aquarium, your water is in terrible condition. What is your nitrates? How big is the tank and what type of Filters are you using? oh, how many fish?

if you go with the fungal idea, the treatment would be melafix, like you allready did.
Finish the treatment and see if there's any progress.
If not and it wouldt be ick, bumping the temp of your tank would be an option, allthough you are pretty high in temp allready.

@OFL; only the ammoniaof 0.25 is bad, isn't it.
Nitrates are a 2,5 and thats very low

Sorry, I misread , I read nitrates as nitrite. Anyway, you still shouldn't have .25 of ammonia, even though the pH is very low which will render it totally harmless luckily

However, how did you come up with a reading of 2.5 for nitrates? Are you absolutely sure you are doing the right test?

lol my lowest testresult for nitrates is 10, with the liquid test set.
Nitrites will start at 0.25 with my test.
