my young oscar hasnt eaten proply in about 3 weeks, hes only about 2.5"/3". when i open the lid all of the other fish come to the right hand side of the tank ready to be fed, but the oscar swims away. he has the occational pellet or bloodworm if one is beside him, but he hasnt eated proply for about 3 weeks. he used to stuff his mouth as full as he could get it. is this loss of appetite ok?
hes a tiger oscar and he keeps going a strange white colour as well. the water is fine and the other fish are fine as well.

Firstly can you test your water for amonia, nitrite and nitrate

As for feeding try putting the food all over the tank and not one spot. Also try different food- I feed pellets, maggots, worms, defrosted frozen prawns and any insect i can find. There are other foods as well- check the section on the home page about oscar food

You need to test for ammonia and nitrite.

Is the oscar being bullied?

How long has your filter been running ,what's it's flowrate and what are the dimensions of the tank?
And we need those results Delboy asked for.
If you go and get some tests please buy the liquid bottles instead of teststrips.
The liquid ones are more accurate.
