Ok i saved an oscar from a tank that was in very bad condition, i took him and a 10 inch long pleco, and put them in my tank which has 4 Odessa barbs, and 3 tiger barbs and 1, 2 inch long pleco. ive gotten my tank cleared up, because it has been very cloudy for about 2 weeks. and now i am seeing one big white spot on all the fish including the barbs which didnt have them until i brought the oscars in. i dont belive it is ick, i used quickcure to help limit diseases. on the little barbs, its almost like a hole or translucent peice of skin. i have never seen anything like it. Also the 10 inch pleco has a white mucus like substance coming off him, i dont know if it is a symptom or normal.

all the chemical in the tank are normal the total hardness it a litle high but nitrate is normal, and ph is good. any ideas?

EDIT

Also the oscars only has like 15% of his scales i got him like that so hes a pale color with very few scales..

Hi and Welcome...

Ok I need EXACT test results for Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate and PH... This will tell us a lot.

Also, how big is your tank?

And what kind of filter are you running?

The answers to these questions will help us help you!

A picture of what you are referring to would also be helpful!

ok well all i have is the tester strips so its hard to be exact but

ph=7.6-8.0
total alk=80is
hardness=250
nitrite=0-.5
nitrate=60 keep in mind i have been using quickcure which contains nitrate. have done 1 water change to keep it down. also i have been adding fish salt to help with stress a little every few days

my tank is a 55gal
and im running a aquaclear 110 filter the carbon and sponge has been changes right after i added the o.

and i dont have an amona test so no clue on that but i use a water conditioner when i add water

sry the pics are kinda bad best i could do on fast moving fish

the odessa barbs

the o

anything else plz ask

well the first picture just looks like a injury but i dont no much about this but i no you should probly do a 25 percent water change every day for the water conditions

I agree with Matt! The first looks like an injury, and I don't see anything on the Oscars other than their lateral lines. And that is normal...If you could point out what you are talking about on the Oscars pics it would help...

In the mean time a 25% water change will never hurt!

its the big spot near the tail fin and also is it normal for the o to not have scales on his body?

Also all the fish have this spot some are very bad one odessa barb has it on about half of its side and has very little color compared to the other ones, maybe it is due ot them fighting idk here another pic a little better maybe

Hun, your Oscar is completely normal... The spot you are pointing at is called an O spot... Most Oscars have them.. 3 of my 4 have that spot. And on the smaller fish I am seeing injury... I would bet within a couple weeks you see nothing but Oscars as they will eat the small fish!

Your oscar is fine, however the barbs are showing injury probably from your oscar having a go at them and trying to eat them

Your tank is only big enough for 1 oscar. Your barbs will end up as oscar food unless you rehome them. The problem is the plec. They get big and you dont have enough room, also if your oscar tries to eat it (which is likely) then the plec will stick its spines out and it could get stuck in your oscars mouth and they both may die. Rehome the plec ASAP
I can't get no sleep

imo your barb is a ceylon barb and i hope that you do not have a gar in your tank.
The barbs may not last long then...

Oscars may tolerate a small fast moving fish without eating it.
My barb lived with my o for several months.
