Since my oscar has been moved to a larger tank he has grown really well and started to show his full character.
But early on morning my mother noticed he got spooked and went crazy. He was bashing into things and was very threatful .
My mum turned on the lights and sat with him to carm him down. one half of his side seemed paralysed and his eyes didnt move.
After a short while he improved slightly but every now and then he would swim on his side and spent the night laying on the surface on his side. I had to keep making sure he was alive.

A day on he refuses to eat so I have to induce food by hand, Hes temperament has changed soo much, he spends the day either next to the water flow outlet or near the top of the tank.

But today he has refused all foods and the only foods introduced he excretes through his gills or spats out. and on occasion his swimming is off and keep swimming against the current of the water outlet;

The only injures i can see is a scrape to his side and a burst pimple that I have treated. I have noticed that his jaw has changed slightly to one side tho he does open it.
I have tested the water daily and the water condition is fine, He is fead on a diet of prawns, shelled peas and pellets. The only other fish in the tank is a small cory cat fish that he doesnt bother. The only change in the tank is a water change a day before it happened, I also levelled the gravel where he made a hole.

The past few days have been really stressful for the family as he is much loved fish and gets more attention that the cat and dog so any help would be grateful.
Thanks
Colin

Hey Colin.... Can you please test your water for Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate and PH and then give us the exact reading...

Sometimes Oscars get spooked and it may take him a while to come out of it... But lets see if we can eliminate everything else...

i dont think that if there is any jaw damage that you can do anything oscars are very hardy fish and can go a good amount of time without eating and oscars randomly stop eating sometime idk if its just bad timing ill let someone else chime in

Your waterparameters seem fine, so that's unlikely to have spooked your oscar.
sometimes an oscar can get spooked by no reason.
I had my red spook at night by my former vieja.
He bashed himself knockout on the lid and floated around the tank for some time before regaining concisiousness.
Lately my tiger only got touched slightly by a Silver dollar and he literally bounced up and down two times between the gravel and the lid.
but both fish didn't suffer permanent damage.
On other occasions i had fish spook very badly when the room lights were turned on in the middle of the night. But since i installed nightlights, that never happened again.

If the jaw is really broken it may heal , but i must admit, that chances are that a may be lethal to your oscar.
His going off the food is a bad indication.
Can you post a picture, please to see if the jaw is really dislocated or broken?

I hope for the best with your fish, fingers crossed.
let's hope he just needs some time to get over his "concussion"
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!
