hello im kinda new to the whole online fish forums

ive got a red tiger oscar and ive had him for just over a month now, but for the past few days after he pigd out on bloodworms and brimeshrimp hes got a lump just b4 his anus and it seems to go down after he passes a big pinkish poo, my brother reported the other day he spat up a big black lump that was soft and lookd like fish food, im wondering if its constipation?

Yeah sounds like it mate..best thing to do is starve him for a day or so and then feed him a couple of garden peas.
This worked for me really well it cleared him out nicely...

Leave him where he is for now moving him could be stressful especially if he has indigestion. get yourself some frozen birds eye peas

Remember to defrost the peas fully and break them up a little if your Oscar is still small

Hey welcome to the site.... sorry your first post is about poop! I agree with Staffie, leave him in the tank and starve him. Trust me, he will be fine. They can go days without eating - although they don't think they can. He will poop! Becareful how much you feed them, no more than they can eat in 3 minutes. They will keep eating if you let them.

With all the 'poop' threads lately, maybe Penn could make another forum category.

The advice given on the poo is good

Remember that loaches are sensitive to treament for ICH. you have to reduce the dosage for loaches. Check the instructions to make sure you are not adding too much treatment

when my oscar had ich, it would sit in the bottom of the tank, hold its fins close, and just wasnt as active...

I saw another thread on here about an oscar 'losing its balance' and it turned out to be something with its swim bladder.. Im still new to the forums myself so dont take my word as an absolute..

what cured my oscar quickly was sea salt and heat.... I kept the temp over 85 for about a week and a half and added 1 tablespoon of sea salt per gallon. 25% water changes daily even after the spots disappear and replenish the salt removed with the water changes.. that and a moderate amount of the medication. Ive yet to see a return..
