Don't put the lights on at all. And depending on how long you keep them in this tank, keep a close check on the water, extra water changes if necessary. Apart from that, I'm sure they'll calm down, must have been a shock for them and you.

Good idea on the turning the lights off
The aggression is because they are in a new environment and are re-establishing the pecking order. However keep an eye on things if the temporary tank is smaller as this can make them feel cramped and this will increase aggression too, but hopefully they will get used to this.
If things get real bad with a fish getting injured then ask if your local fish shop will look after your fish (they will charge for this) for you until you get up and running.
Good luck on the repair

you could also take a big blanket and cover the tank just to ensure it is completely dark if yr o's r like mine they should go to sleep not long after complete darkness.
keep us posted hey!

I'm so terribly sorry to hear that this has happened to and your fish. I'm curious, how old was this tank? Are you saying the seam just opened up? Thank goodness you were home. Good luck to you and your fish.

Sorry to hear this. It has happened to me before as well. Luckily I was in the middle of a poker game with some friends when it happened right behind me. Still did some damage as the whole front panel blew out what a nightmare. Good luck to you.

I'm so sorry to hear that your tank exploded!! I am also curious as to how long you had the tank. I can't imagine the amount of damage it would cause if this were to happen to me, wow... how scary.
I glad your fish are doing alright! Also, glad you were home when it happened. How awful it would be to come home to that.
