minnows! caught about 50 last night and put them in the 10 gallon tank to feed my oscar as i wish. the 10 gallon had a problem with planaria. well within 24 hours all the planaria were gone and the only answer is that the minnows ate them! just thought i would let you know
Current Tank Setup:
30 Gallon (will be upgrading very soon!):
-One Oscar (Watchmacallit) 7-8inches

I have a better idea, don't overfeed your fish and maintain water quality in your tank then you wouldn't get planaria in the first place

Sorry I don't mean to sound like a smarta** but if you are getting those in your tank there are organic waste issues you need to address.

LOL well I suppose that's one solution...what did you have in the 10 gallon before the minnows?

actually, the blue panchant or what we called "kataba" is used to control mosquito
larvae in our tributaries...however, how will they do their job if you have big
oscar in a tank with planaria????? when i had an angel fish, i used to stir
the substrate just to disturb those planaria... and since oscar can not take
a 5 inches body wide angel fish, he did a good job picking all those little
creature circling / trickling around...

The best to remove and/or stop them developing in the first place is good tank maintainence and not over feeding. Only feed your fish what they will eat in 2 mins (twice a day for oscar less than 6inches, once a day if over 6 inches)
I can't get no sleep

its not in my oscar tank and hopefully wont be. in the tank before was just some other minnows that i probably did end up overfeeding. took those minnows out and waited a few weeks before adding more to see if the planaria would go away. it didnt. since planaria doesnt hurt fish i just decided to add more minnows. they cured that problem quick!
