TOPIC: Bumped head or something more serious?

Bumped head or something more serious? 1 year, 8 months ago #115412

Tonight, i have noticed that Oscar De La Hoya has a rather nasty crator in his head. I'm sure its just a bump but just wondering if it may be something more serious?

Sorry for the bad photo, he doesnt like having his photo taken.

Poor guy.

Mine sometimes have this. If you have sharp objects in the tank, they can run into them. Also, when oscars sleep, they drift and float around and can run into sharp objects. They can also run into other fish.

Are your water parameters OK? If you have healthy water, it is just a superficial wound and it will heal up quick.

Thanks for the advice!

I'm sure he will be fine, he's acting his normal self... eating plenty, chasing the others and watching tv with us so no problems there.

What are your water parameters just out of curiosity?

If he has tank mates, he may also be competing for food, or having a fight (playful or otherwise) with one or more fish.

It does look like its just a bump, keep an eye on it, and it should start healing up pretty quick. if you notice any more then maybe start worrying )
