My Tiger Oscar has been suffering from the disease which causes small pots of "cotton-look-a-like" stuff around its forehead.
I treated it with anti-biotics but only managed to contain the situation.

After 5 days trip I returned to find my Oscar's like this...

The fish is definitely not well, the Albino Oscar in the same tank which previously showed NO sign of infection suffers the same fate. Both are more or less like this. They do fight every now and then but I have doubts if these wounds are caused by vicious fight..or...serious infection. please Help!!!

We need your water readings for Ammonia, NItrite, Nitrate and PH....
Also how big is your tank? and how much filtration do you have???

I have used up all test paper will get some tomorrow so for now no water readings.
The tank itself is 150 litre which I'm going to replace with a triple sized one next month (if the fishes survive that long).
I have one external filter which filters 600 litres of water each hour.

OK, your tank is WAY too small for your Oscars... You need to look at 55 gallons or about 300ltrs Per Oscar... And a HUGE filter to go along with it...

But right now, I would suggest you do a 50% water change immediately, And the 30% water change every day until we can figure out how safe your water is.

In My Opinion, your fish look like they are suffering from Ammonia burn. That is caused by poor water quality.

Lets get these babies all fixed!

Thanks for the quick respond! I have done the 50% water change yesterday so I'll do the 30% change today. If it's Ammonia Burn...what can I do now, apart from changing water constantly.
5 days away...a bit oooooooo long.

Moreoever, when I apply medicine into the tank, should I first remove the antivated-carbon in the filter?
Or can I choose to switch the filter off for an hour after I've applied the medicine?

Any carbon should be removed during medicine treatment, and placed back into the filter when the treatment is done.
The carbon then should be removed after it has abdsorbed the remaims of the medicine.
The carbon will leak back the toxins if it is kept in the filter for to long.
We do not advice the use of carbon, for there could be a link between the development of HITH desease and carbon.
And i totally aggree with Nicki, you need a bigger tank ASAP!

Thanks for all, so it's an Ammonia burn, not any form of bacteria infection or parasite?

Yes hun, if you don't get your water under control, and get your fish healing, it can get infected...

And the only way to treat or fix this is to keep doing water changes until your water is right for your Oscars..

Like Paul said, you really need a liquid test kit instead of the test strips... Strips are not accurate...

But you do REALLY need a much bigger tank FAST!

I concur with the others, your tank is too small and your water quality is probably very bad

Get a bigger filter ASAP
Do 50% water changes daily
Get a test kit (bottle types not strips) and test the water and post the results
I would also treat the water with an anti-bacterial (remove any carbon), this will help the fish heal and stop any secondary infections!
I can't get no sleep
