Everything was fine until I bought a rubberlip pleco (who at the time had no signs of illness (now he looks like a snowstorm). I've been treating the water with Noxich, water changes, and slowly increasing the heat for 4 days now, but now I'm noticing these little white worms everywhere (they look like poop just moving sporadically). I can deal with the ich, but what are these worms?! I love my oscars and I don't want them dying of some horrible parasite!

Can you explain EXACTLY what these worms look like please... Perhaps a picture?

They're very very small probably a centimeter at most, they are translucent white with a darker head and they move by twisting up their bodies quickly. I only have my cell phone camera and it can't see them past the glass.

usually from poor water quality. they live in the subsrate. some large waterchanges should help.

BUT they are caused from over feeding... They are NOT harmful to your fish...

Cut back on feeding and do a good vacuum at your next water change. They will eventually go away!

ok I also just noticed theres a little bunch of tiny white flies on the surface of the water, I've never seen them before (but now that I'm looking over the whole tank with a fine tooth comb, I noticed them). Could they be laying eggs and hatching wormy larve?

I have no idea if that is possible.. I have had Planaria in one of my tanks, and it is harmless... And I have had LITTLE tiny flies in that same tank, but they went away on their own... I wouldn't worry too much!
