TOPIC: HITH ?

HITH ? 4 years ago #12879

I will try to take a picture ASAP, but i noticed some small white circle on one of my baby 2.5" red oscar. Is this disease spreadable to other oscars? I change my water 7-10 days and keep the tank real clean since I feed them 2 times a day. I just got the fish on 5/1/08

Pictures would help. What exactly are your water parameters?

It could just be the sensory pits coming in, or maybe JSS. HITH does not spread, though if one has, others are likely to have since it is cause generally by diet and/or water quality.

I just bought them yesterday. My water quality is PERFECT. Now someone is going to post like before "how do you know your water is perfect? BLAHBLAH BLAH BLAH" Because i know from doing TESTS!

anyways back to topic, i feed them frozen blood worms..i feed them about once a day now I don't want to make my tank messy.

whats your perfect nitrate reading.

also you should be using a good quality pellet as a staple for your oscar diet not only frozen bloodworms. and while oscar are small you should feed twice a day until they reach about 6". but you probably know this already.
Warning..I will offend you at some point!!!

my goal is simple a complete understanding of the universe, why it is as it is and why it exists at all

Yeah I feed them average 2 times a day besides yesterday only once. I do feed them pellets and live brine shrimp once on a blue moon.

Feeding oscars mainly bloodworm will get very expensive when they get big. For the sake of your pocket try a varied diet but feed pellets at least half the time
