treating with melafix 6 days out with carbon cartridge filters removed added pimafix today - noticed new red patches on the side of the fish and black spots apearing also- accompanied by curvature of the spine, a variety of other symptoms include 1 eye cloudy, 1 eye with a whitish clump forming at the bottom ( both eyes still see and function)missing scales and pits and 1 side fin eaten away the other good but a bloody hole in the center, dorsal fin ragged and edged in white- one of the dorsal spines bright red and one of the under fin spines bright red, water temp was at 78 increased to 80, water test results:GH120,KH0,PH6,NO2 0, NO3 180- fish desease diagnosis- so confusing, extremely suspicious of Tb but can't really find any pics on the subject or clear info on full range of symptoms- also note the other fish in the tank is completely healthy- Please help!I have children and other animals and I am extremely worried about this and weather I should just get rid of the fish and stop being so stubborn about this.....any opinions

Personally, it sounds as if the fish is too far gone to help. I am finding it difficult to come up with ideas, mainly due to the fact that I'm only going by what I am reading on your posts. If I was in position, I would ask myself if I want to keep throwing money at this fish to try and save it. If the answer is yes, take the fish to a vet. I must warn you that that can be a very expensive option that may not even work. But it might just be kinder to euthunise the fish as soon as possible.

Goodnight, getting late here:)

thank you, unfortunately I found him dead when I got home from work- I know I need to really clean the tank and all the equipment- but for today I just reinstalled the carbon filters-my plan is to just dump the gravel and start over, with new stones, I need to know what I should clean the tank and filter bodies and aireator bars etc..with....and while I am doing that what should I do with the female- put her into a bucket with an aireator? and would it be alright to use new water for her bucket (it would be well water) and once setup could she go back into the tank if temp stabilized? what about her stress, losing her tank mate, bucket time and different tank?

NO3 of 180 is too high and that is why your fish got ill. You need to keep them below 40. To do this you have to do large water change at least once a week
