just came to feed my fish and i realise that albino wasnt there for his food. very unusual as he is allways the first one there. i inspect the tank and he is hiding away and would not come out. i put my hand in and he let me "pick him up" and move him, i could see he is very scraped up and as soon as i left him alone he gentley swam back to his hiding.

now im guessing but i dont think my red oscar has done this as they are scrapes and if he had atacked albino then the albino would have chunks missing. i think some how the pleco has done this. he has them pretty bad and pretty deep on both sides.

my main worry..i go on holiday tomorow morning:ohmy: ....

is there anything i can do?

Unfortunately, I don't think you've got time to do anything. Have you got another tank you could put the albino in until you come back, preferably one that is cycled? the only other alternative I can see is to put a divider in between them if you have got one

very strange, quivering of the tail is normally related to breeding courtship. I've often read of people saying that this is aggression, personally, I've never experienced any aggression when my Oscars have quivered their tails at each other. How do your Oscars normally behave with each other?

Breeding courtship can on occasions be quite rough and injuries are often caused.

it sounds as if you're going to have to leave them and hope for the best.

they are normally great together. obviusly the red oscar is the "boss" of the tank. they both feed at the same time together with no problems. they chase/follow each other all the time. i would say that they are like best friends most of the time.

red O has started chasing albino alot now but he isnt biting him/her he is just rubbing his front against albinos side.

If the red is chasing the albino a lot then i suspect the albino is hiding because he is being bullied and that is how he got injured
