Hi my 8 month old red oscar, having about 10 white spot on his head, first its was very tiny white, then stop feed it with goldfish, I feed him with formular, today I saw the spot getting bigger, I change water yesterday and I change again today, it current on 20 gallon tank, next month or so I will afford a 50 gallon tanks, but now im keep change 5 gallon water every 2 day, and only feed with the formular, and I want to ask what kind of medicine I can put in to treat the spot ? I live near by pet mart. thanks

i may be wrong but i dont think so at mo. Your fish has not got white spot. for a start white spot will not increase in size but will increase in number. 1st Recheck and see if the fish has more very small spots or the same spot is growing larger. 2nd try to post a pic. 3nd take a look at one of the photos on this site of a fish with white spot and compare. white spot can be identified by very large numbers of very, very small spots. Pin head size. the spot will not grow its self you will just get more small spots.

At the top of this page is a search box. search for "Is this ich ?" (make sure you add the question mark)about 7 pages down is a post from liamliamliam with a photo of white spot. Dose this look like what your fish has???

pics? turn your temp up to 84 or 86, that should get em off. you can either add some salt (one tsp per gallon) or treat with a medication with malachite green or copper if it really is ich. check out the article in the the helpful articles section on the topic, probably the best article out there on the topic.

Did you not read the artical, the spots are getting bigger and you dont even know its white spot. Please dont treat the fish an till you get future advice from other members if you dont trust my advice. before I tell you to treat for white spot I want to know it is for sure or you will delay with the right treatment if its not with spot. If you are totally sure it is white spot then yes turn up your temperture.

When you get white spot they dont usually get bigger, you just get more of them
