TOPIC: please help me

please help me 3 years, 7 months ago #17542

My sister bought an axalotle fish a few months ago, at first we thought it wan an ugly thing, but then we grew to love it. Its tank was rather small so we decided to buy it a new tank. something up to $300, we found a tank for $300 and it is amazing, it literally is a $5000 tank! but the catch is we had to take the two fish with it.

It has two fish devided by a lattice to stop them from killing each other. One of them is very very mean to the other one. I mean to the max! it has holes all over it from biting it, the guy who previously owned them obviously loved them because he didnt let us split them and that was the catch to getting them.

I really dont want two fish who cant be together, or just one fish on each side, so now i want to know what my options are and what i can do to make them like eachother, do i add another fish or do i need to get rid of one... will the wounds heal??? im in such a... i dont know what to do.

Welcome to Oscar fish lover. Now, you have been very vague about what fish you have. I'm sorry, but I've never even heard of a axalotle fish. You haven't told us if you've got an Oscar either. Could you send us some photographs please.

Regarding your question, it's simple, keep the one that you like best and find a new home for the other one

An axalotle(if that is the right spelling) fish doesnt look like a fish at all, its a bit like a next. It has a long thin body and has 4 legs and if it looses a leg, it grows another (i only know this as my neighbour has some). They dont like bright light so a moonlight (blue) bulb is best for them. They look like a fun fish to keep

In answer to your question, my rules are to rehome the aggressive fish (try giving it to a fish shop). If your 2 new fish are oscars (i assume this as you are posting on an oscar site) then i would keep the lights dim and try the least aggressive oscar with the axalotle and see if they get on. My neighbour keeps his axalotle in tap water, as i do with my oscars so i am guessing they can both live in the same water (best check this for your local water), but be prepared for problems and you may have to separate them
I can't get no sleep
