For the first time I fed my oscar live feeder fish and he went crazy attacking them and eating them. The next day i looked in the tank and I noticed his lower jaw was crooked. It was not centered and was to the left. When he was feeding on the live feeders I did notice him swim really fast into the side of the tank trying to catch the feeders. Will his jaw heal and straighten up or will he be forever with a crooked jaw?

if it is set crooked it will stay crooked unless it corrects itself in the next week to ten days.......hope he is ok ,personaly i wouldnt give feeders as it can increase aggression towards other fish and if you are not breeding them yourself can introduce disease and bacteria to an otherwise stable enviroment!!!

I'm afraid there's not much you can do when this happens. Hopefully, your fish will recover okay. I would actually advise you to stop feeding for a few days, this will give the mouth a bit of a rest.

broken jaw can happen anytime with our oscars.
my lady greyish belly had one when she was
accidentally hit by the rampaging pangasius.
for one week, her jaw was sagging but still could
grab her share of foods. on the 2nd week, the jaw
was back to normal. on the 3rn week, she lays her eggs
again.

If you have other oscars with the broken jaw fish I would remove them. I had one that suffered the same type( a split bottom jaw) this didnt heal and the fish died. Thinking about it I dont think it healed cos the other fish where still mouthing with it. I would remove any rock it may try to clean too so it has nothing to aggravate it. they are meant to heal ok but it will depend how bad it is. If its out of shape it may heal this way. If it gose back into shape when mouth is closed there is a good chance it will heal back but no real way to tell, other than wait.good luck.

yes, it return to normal form. but on the first week, i thought that side of the jaw will gonna fall down. lucky enough, it didn't. she just laid the eggs again two days ago.... will post the pictures that shows the excess eggs on the slate. lucky angel fish... plenty of wigglers again. my ground tank not yet ready.
