Hello, I purchased an albino tiger oscer yesterday and when i got home and put him in his new tank. I noticed that he has very simetrical pin-head sized pits on his head. Is this normal or should I take safty precautions and just asume that it is hole in head disease. one thing i cannot express enough is how amazingly even every pit on his head is. they are in the exact same spots on both sides. From the picture that i have seen it does not look like hole in head disease but i dont posses and trained eye in this field of expertise. Any insight would be greatly apriciated. Sorry no pic, yet, but will upload them soon. Thanx much

Obviously without the photograph, we can't give you a conclusive answer. However, what you describe does sound like sensory pits to me. Below is a picture of sensory pits on lutino Oscar.

I assume that this oscar is full grown due to the size of sensory pits it has. That being said what I am seeing are sensory pits, they are just not that big due to his 3 1/2 inch length. Thank You for answering my question so soon and being quite helpful(the pictures will still be coming soon).

As soon as you post a photo, we should be able to answer your question conclusively
