Hello, i've got a problem with one of my albino oscars, basically i came downstairs this morning to the horror of what i thought was a dead oscar, but it was not the case, i took the oscar out of the tank and placed him on the kitchen worktop to wrap him in newspaper to throw him in the wheelie bin, i went back into the living room to grab the newspaper and heard some funny noises from the kitchen.
I hurried back into the kitchen wondering what was going on and the oscar was now on the floor thrashing and flipping around so i grabbed a towel picked him up and placed him back in his tank, he seemed fine up until a few hours ago when he did the same thing again looking lifeless laying completly sideways with no signs of movement from gills mouth or fins and again he got back up around 30 minutes later and seemed perfectly healthy
Can anyone shed any light on this????

Blimey, that's a new one on me. Did he not move at all when you took him out of the tank? What type of cultivation have you got? Make sure that your tank is being oxygenated properly, i.e. there is plenty of surface agitation. As already stated, we need to know your water conditions, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH.

tiny gas bubbles enter the water on water changes if the end of the hoze is under the water... sometimes these bubbles are ingested by fish and then trans fer to the blood and swim bladder?????its a bit like us getting air in our blood......but its gas in the fish ..just a thought as i realy havnt seen lifelessness for that length of time especialy when the fish is removed from the water ?????do you keep your hose end out of the water when filling the tank on waterchanges as it is vitaly important you do ????????

not moving as if dead..... i am used to that when my fish
sleep well.... the first time i was shock and thought one
of my fish is dead. i scoop it with my hand and lift it.
however, when i applied a pressure in his belly, he splash
down in the tank. from then on, i used to hold my sleeping
oscar but not lifting them anymore. the male sleep more than
the female....
