While at work this morning, my little 2 year old son decided to climb on a chair and lift the lid on my fish tank and drop a digestive biscuit into my tank.
i have 2 small oscars (4 inches)
2 parrots (4 inches)
i small pleco (3 inches)
i have managed to set up a temp tank and put the fish into the tank, but im worried they may be affected.
should this cause any problems for them,
the biscuit had managed to dissolve and most of it got sucked up by my 2 filters.
but there was still lots of it floating about in the tank.
would my fish of eaten it? and will they be ok?
they seem ok at the moment, but i mean in the long run.

i cant say i have had experience with digestive cookies in my tank so i cant reply based on actual experience here. but i beleive that you should be alright in the long run. i would remove as much of the offending cookie that you can and do a water change to help in removing the floating debris.
hope things work out well in your cookie removal endevours.

i managed to get all the biscuit out and i done a 50% water change, so fingers crossed my little guys are ok.
i just need to find some kind of lock for my tank now so my little son cant get his grumby hands in there anymore.

Thats exactly what it is, because he see's me feeding them and he likes to copy everything i do, he thought it would be fun to feed them while i was at work.
my misses didnt even see him doing it.
he's such a sneak.
i really am gonna have to think of a way of locking the lid of my tank though.

the digestive biscuit will have NO effect on your water or fish whatsoever ...it will be fine but wach the chid himself cant get in ...maybe some sort of lock on the lid is needed???????

biscuits, breads or any baby food won't harm your fish
as they won't harm your baby. however, the danger lies
on the clogged filtering machine. without knowing, plenty
of baby foods will stick on the suction line chocking the
flow of water. that is the danger. take it from my experience...
i have three kids that had interven in my fishkeeping 20 years
ago but more on gold fish and red cap oranda.

Glad to see I'm not the only one this stuff happens to. Worked 12 hour days for couple weeks straight, basically work,eat,sleep....Get home at 3 am last night of the week, chillen on my couch, tearing up a Captain Morgan and coke. I notice a D@%M kids shoe in the bottom of my tank.
