hello. i woke up this morning. the temp of my tank was a little high. i havent touched the heater?? ive kept a close eye on it. its not climbing. anything else that could change the temp in the tank??

could be that your thermostat on your hearter might be starting to go on you. or has the amibient temp of the room increased? these can be 2 reasons why the tank temp might increase.

What is the temperature now? Room temperature definitely plays a part in tank temperature.

sounds like ur heaters starting to go. ive been going through heaters like toilet paper for simular reasons to this.

room temp is the same. i was thinking it was probably the heater. Its out of the red now. bout 28.5C

28.5°C is pretty much perfect in my books. What kind of thermostats have you got? Try moving it around the tank next time your temperature starts rising and see if the temperature stays constant. I highly recommend the digital thermometers, they give you a clear accurate reading.

not too sure. i got it from the previous owner. he never told me much. but i went and bought a new one . seems to be good now. i also just found out my buddys upgrading to salt water. hes selling me his setup for his o's (them included!). much nicer than mine (tank... not fish) haha.
