I just bought 2 juvie tiger oscars 3 weeks ago and the last couple of days I noticed they have ick. Please let me know the best way to cure ick. Please help me!!!
I have a 110G tank. I recycled the water for 1 week. I tested my water at Petsmart and it was fine. I do 15-20% water change weekly.

now for your ick treatment firstly you should raise the water temperature in your tank to 30 degrees celcius and add an ick medicin that contain methel blue if you can find it. keep up with your changes and things should clear up in about a week.
if there is something i forgot to add im sure someone else will chime in with it.

now to your tank if im reading this right you have had it set up for a week now? if this is the case it is not yet cycled properly. the first thing you should do is buy yourself a water testing kit. american pharmaceuticals makes a good liquid reagent master test kit that i would recommend to anyone who needs to get one.

most pet stores test water for free but i am leary on what they classify as good. with a test kit you can give actual reading for your water levels and with these we are better able to help in diagnosis and cures for your situation.

first and foremost, your oscar had been exposed to bad water condition in your LFS.
2nd, i am afraid you do not have a cycled tank
3rd, fine water condition is not good enough for water parameters. we need exact reading for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH, temp.
4th... it is good you keep water change. pristine water is the first defense for any fish illnesses.

Thank you both for your quick responses.
I cycled the tank for 1week prior getting my oscars.
I have raised the tank temperature slowly to 82F. I will get a test kit today to have a better water reading.

if you have only cycled your tank for one week before introducing your fish its your water thats causing the health problems...........a tank takes 40 days from the first ammonia reading to complete..introducing fish other than cycling fish before this 40 day point will result in serious health problems...please see the link on the homepage on "how to cycle a tank"
