Welcome to our community. Very difficult to say from your description, but yes we need a photo. Putting photos on the forum is very easy. If you go to a website called www.photobucket.com , create an account and then upload the photo you want to put on the forum. Then all you do is click on the photo, when it opens up you will see two all right for boxes. Click inside the box that has "IMG" above and that will copy the image code, you will then be able to display the photo on the forum

I may not always be right, but I am always the BOSS :-)

Hello and welcome to OFL. Does your Oscar like to dig, push his deco around? Looks like a rash from doing that. Hith is erosion and pitting around the nostrils and sensory pits initially. Left unchecked, it will advance to chunks of flesh melting off the fish's forehead. He will do much better in the larger tank. Need any tips on how to transition smoothly, just ask.

No hith. Melafix is mild and basically harmless. Water changes are always welcomed by Oscars. Do them everyday if you can. You cannot do too often or too much volume of water changes in an Oscar tank. The cleaner the water, the healthier the fish
