Daddy Green Sev just went wild, he was running into the walls and digging into the gravel really hard. He did this right after chasing Momma up into the corner of the tank so hard I thought she'd be knocked out. Any idea what's wrong? I'm testing the water now, brb with results.

PH is 7.6
Ammonia is 0
Nitrate is 0
Nitrite is 0

Momma Sev is still hiding, Daddy was taken from the tank and put in the big tank where he's breathing hard and has turned almost pure white. He turned white right before he started chasing Momma. Are you still here Paul??

No they've been in the breeding tank for about 3 weeks. A few days before I post the Billions of eggs thread cause they had eggs 2 or 3 days after moving them.

Thank you so much Paul, I'll leave the computer on and check during the night, I doubt I'll get much sleep. She has me more worried than him now, she's under the rock and won't come out.

my friend told me that sev do change colors based on their mode.
when they feel threatened, they change drastically and fight back.
perhaps he was disoriented and think the partner is an intruder.
is there any changes in the lighting? that is one possible cause
of disorientation.

I've seen them change color often, usually within minutes but never to this almost white color ( and she's very dark, look scared to me) Nothing has changed, the office is very quite just us on our puters. It did happen right after I turned the tv off but the volume was low. I'm gonna do the normal water change tomorrow and then I'll put him back in and see how it goes. He's never done anything like this. The tank sits on the end of my desk less than 2 feet away so I always know what's going on with them. My desk is the length of the east wall and hubby's covers the north wall, a huge L shape with a tank on each end and the tv in the middle. They're 5 feet from the tv and the lighting is low.
Thank you for your help Paul, since they both seem calmer now I'm going to bed, it's after 1 am and I gotta be up at 6. I hope your day is good hun
