I do not know what to do I tried 4 types of meds!
My oscars look like they have HITH as i stated in my posts from a few weeks ago... They have what looks to be like as if you used a drill bit and started drilling it into metal for a little bit as to make like a round bevel indentation like that of what's used to counter sink a screw?
On one of my oscars there is actually a round hole eaten right through his tail fin like how a catapillar eats a hole through a leaf..... I been treating for weeks my water is perfect i been doing daily 25% water changes mostly and or every other day water changes.... I first used jungle pond fizz tabs with metronidazole then i used pure 100% grade tablets of metronidazole and this did not work so i mixed malefix bacteria stuff in also and it did not work also!! now i am trying a parisite type med... I been using the first to meds for weeks and nothing worked?

I don't know what to use anymore!! they are making me go NUTS!

I can't be of any help to you with HITH but the others will be in here soon and figure something out, don't give up !!

It might not be necessary for you to change the water every day. The morning after a water change, check your nitrate and if it is allowed 20 ppm, don't change the water. The problem is, carrying out lots the water changes could well stress the fish out a little, this could prevent hole in the head healing quickly. Also, make sure that the water doesn't fluctuate in temperature too much as this can also stressed fish.

To be quite honest, the only suggestion that I got for you is to continue with the water changes and making sure your nitrate is always very low. What type filtration have you got? Are you sure that there is no ammonia nitrite present?

Hi i have a 125Gal tank my nitrate last time i looked was almost 0 it was under 5ppm.
I have a 400GPH twin bio wheel a acqu clear 600GPH and a magnum 250GPH canister and a rena 350GPH canister.. That's alot of filtration.....I don't know what to do now the other day one of my guy's had a white open hole starting in his lip now i just looked at him and it actually ate a hole through his top lip the thin membrain between the lips on the fish...kind of when you go fishing and hook a fish and it rips it's lip a little off that's what it looks like.

your filtration is more enough for the tank size and system.
however, can you please tell us how you go about cleaning those
filter.

hole in the lip??? a picture would help. it may be just the
nostril pit hole, two holes in between the eyes and mouth.

Hi i rotate between filters every so often cleaning one only at a time so i don't mess up bacteria.

Also it's not only it's lip if you read my first post it also has a hole right through it's tail fin and other spots on it's body that look like when you start drilling metal with a drill bit for a second only to make a round cone like indention in the metal part...it has these on it's body also and its weird can't get rid of it .

it might help to work out whats wrong with them, it must be something curable if they all have it.
have you tried adding salt to your water?

hi you haven't mentioned any other tank mates? do you have any sharp objects in the tank.ie:
sunken pirate ship.

Well my best looking tiger has got so bad i had to put him out of his misory... I am very mad nothing is working I did have salt in the water and the tank has no sharp objects every sighn points to hole in the head ....I have just now tried my first does of yet another med this time jungle parisite clear I hope this works if not my last resort is jungle hole in the head guard!
I tried everything possible with these oscars i think i just got some weak to inbred specimines.

If i can't get these cured i think i will have to get a couple babis and start all over again.

is your fish still taking foods.... if yes, then have faith
it will recover soon..... just keep your water in tip top
condition....
