i need help! i know that bullying has been covered before, but my 6 inch red has started to pick my tiger to pieces, literally!!
i have them in a 60 gallon tank along with a green terror 4" and blue ahli 4.5" (i have a 120 gallon in the garage, but haven't finished the stand for it).
the offending fish is spending the night in the timeout net, but i really fear that the red will KILL the tiger... all of this damage happened in the course of a couple of days.
what should i do?

i would get a divider for the tank immediately, with one fish one either side.
until you work out what you are going to do, i would separate them comfortably straight away.
maybe when you get the 120 set up you could have fish in separate tanks, maybe you will just have to get rid of one.
how long have you had these O's?
you may have to males competing for the tank.

i have had the tiger for about 6 months and the red for about 2 months. up until last week, they got along fine. then last week i noticed the red attacking his reflection in the glass and trying to go head to head with the tiger. now the tiger has given up, and doesnt fight back

They are in too small of a tank first of all, but you know that. And they are fighting for dominance. Separate them immediately or the red will kill the tiger!

fish usually attacked sick and damage fish.
you have to remove the tiger. try to get a molly
or guppy and release them in the tank. if the nipped
the fin of damage oscar, your tiger had fungus that is
sweet to fish nipping kind (fin rot fungus).

thanks guys, guess i'll have to get a divider, because there is no where to put the tiger besides my 36 gallon community tank... and that would not work out well at all for the little ones, though i'm sure the oscar would LOVE it!
bgh's net worked better on the red oscar than it did with my green terror. after i released him, he seems much better behaved
anybody want to donate a a/c unit? it's 98 degrees in my garage, and it's kinda hard to make myself go work on the stand after spending all day outside at work

update:
while cleaning my tank last night, i found a large black patch of what could only be my tiger's skin. it seems i might have been mistaken in blaming the red for all of the damage done to my tiger. i guess that Gordo must have scraped his skin off on one the rocks in the tank.
it has only been a week since i posted this thread and gordo has nearly healed completely
