hi all.. well i just finishd cycleing my 55gal for my oscar, he is around 4inch's and i had him in a 2ft untill my 55gal was up and running.. as i went 2 get bag him so i can put him in2 the 55gal i saw this BIG thing on his head!

i didnt see him with it around 4 hr's ago, so im not sure if its hole in the head..

how long does it take for hole in the head 2 show?.. around 0.5cm x 0.5cm bigg?

can it be that he hit his head on something?..

how long does is take for it 2 get better, will it have a mark there for the rest of his life and do i need 2 do anythingg?!

plz help.. its my first oscar/ big fish and im sorta stressing

not sure if its HITH you will need to post some pics if you can...

have you checked your water? what are the perimeters?

you will definitely need meds to treat it if its HITH.
it can be quite hard to cure, although i haven't heard of it suddenly appearing as i have never dealt with it before i cant say for sure

If your Oscar does start developing HITH then you may notice small holes appearing in the body, especially in the head, gill and mouth areas. These holes will gradually developed into much larger craters/pits. You may also notice stringy mucus trailing from the wounds which has often been mistaken for worms. Your fish may also go off its food and develop a hollow bellied appearance.

It seems like to me a clean deep cut, i dont see any worm looking things and it did happen VERRY FASST (3-4 hr's)..

im worried it may get infected?.. or it will scar his head the same way HITH looks when its healed.

he seems a little active..... i just put him into a new tank and he isnt laying on the bottom of the tank when i first got him 3 months ago...

it just seems to me to be bigg for such a little oscar ... will he recover?

That does NOT look like HITH, It looks to me like he ran into something. Keep your water peramiters in EXCELLENT Condition and you should be fine...

As far as him laying on the bottom of the tank, you moved him he will pout!
