hi guys
tank status
all readings of ammonia, nitrites, ph fine
but one of my oscars is laying low... no clue why

i think its a female oscar cause couple months back it layed eggs

now the problem is that no fishes are fighting.. they are all cool but this fish has some issue... its always low... and near its belly... its got like a press mark.. as thought someone clips your cloths you have to pinch marks when they dry... this is very similar to this...

now recently i got a ozonizer or ozone machine, in case havent heard of it... can read here

saltaquarium.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsit...dia.com/marphysf.htm

should use some endo bacteria solution from Azoo...??? i have it at home

Hi warlock, any chance of a pic of the pinch mark that your oscars showing and can you be more specific as to where it is on the fish if the pic isn't poss.

if its on the bottom of the belly there's a good chance its an internal infection or it could be a digesting problem. is the fish eating and pooing ok? also is it swimming around and keeping balance? Are you certain its not eggs? as it has laid before.

the pinch is in her/his belly

for indigestion i think i might try using garlic boiled in water and use that water in the tank

as of swimming.. it come up to eat and smiws here and there but majorly staying low.. and when comes up and goes down... it as if it just sunk donk.. and it reached straight to the base.. and sometimes.. is so lifeless that it almost bounces when it reaches down

It dose sound like an internal infection with the swim bladder. There are a few treatments available from aquarium stores, if i were you I would treat with an swim bladder treatment that covers a wide range of other internal infections too.

swim bladder infection can show itself in a few different ways, sometimes the fish will loose balance and roll side to side other times it may float head or tail up or sink to the bottom and look as if the fish has become heavy.

for while, my fish had shown the same problem.
he almost do not move and keep stationary at the
bottom. but after almost 5 weeks, he is active again
and bully the giant pangasius......

the only change he had now is color.... sporting a blackish
skin all over.... he is no longer a white fish as if soak
in a bucket of white paint.

reading from some other pet site... i also boiled garlic in water.. and in that garlic water diped the fish food and gave it to eat.. i think it ate most of the food.. and still its staying down low... still as Paul mentioned.. but there is no color change or anything else.. she looks fine else...

ok this might sound a little funny.. but i see something like a pimple below his mouth... or some kinda peak formation... is this a side effect of the swim bladder problem???

1 of my oscars has a pimple on he chin. its very common, i think its from rubbing on the glass or rocks but I am not sure. It gets larger then goes away only to return another time. you could post a pic if you are not sure. I think there is one already on site somewhere as we had this topic before.
