help my oscar dosnt look well he has just started not eating and he is staying around the rock and resting on it well i say he i dont no what it is here is a couple of pics if anybody can help

he has just started swiming but still wont come up to me just staying round the same sort of area

what are your ammonia, nitrite, nitrates and pH levels?

i dont no at the moment as i havnt done the test as im on call at the moment so i am on and off the phone all the time as soon as i do it i will let u no

Unfortunately it's very difficult to help without knowing what the water conditions are.

just had quiet time so here we go no3 = 5
no2 = 0.1
nh3 nh4 = 0.6
ph = 7.0-7.5

you need to give your tank a big water change......
without cleaning the filter yet.

my oscar still looks abit sad today and it is to be blunt having a poo at the mo and its all white but in some casses with guppys and platys and mollys they tend to have whit poo when they are going to give birth i dont no if its they same

sounds like internal parasite .....(increased flagelites in the blood) !!!! sorry

"white poo" is the inner lining in the oscars stomach... he's excreting it because he something in his gut is stressing him... it's likely an internal parasite...

he probably got it from a weakened immune system (from poor water params) so you need to do some water changes bud. probably at least 30% daily for a week or so.

say, how long has the tank been setup??? has it been properly cycled???

the tank was set up 23/8/08 the tank had a proper clean out 3 months ago and a water change the beggining of the month

i have been doing the water changes as i was told to do and he seems to be perking up abit but his eye seems to have gone gold instead of black but he is swimming round abit more now is there any more advise what i can do. thank u for your help so far very greatfull
