TOPIC: Recued Fish - Urgent Request

Recued Fish - Urgent Request 2 years, 9 months ago #48059

Guys

I saw an add in the classifieds today of a guy selling a tank with fish "if they are alive when you get here"

Thinking this was terribad I went over this afternoon to try to rescue some...

It was worse than I though - lots of large cichlids (and others) sitting in a cooler bag.

I managed to convince the guy to sell the lot to me for $20 but I really need to identify them in order to work out whether I can keep them or so I can pass them on to better homes.

In the tank before the rescues:

- Baby Oscar
- 2 x Green Severum
- 2 x Bistlenosed Catfish
- 10 Black widow tetras
- 2 x Piscus Catfish

And now the pictures of the rescues. If you could help id, as well as suggest which ones I should keep and which ones i should re-home that would be greatly appreciated!

Jack Dempsey?

Some random catfish like thing:

Silver dollar?

Yellow cichlid and ?

Similar to the one above, no stripes, red at base of side fins...

ALSO

Black Ghost Knife fish
New to the whole Oscars thing..
Setup:
4' x 2' x 2' Tank with 100L Sump filtration

I am a rescuer, too. Good luck to you, and you did the right thing by them.

Pic 1 looks like a blue acara (aequidens pulcher) but my fish recognition isn't good so is more likely not, lol

Hello,
The top one, I'm fairly sure, is not actually a Jack Dempsey. The random catfish thing is a species of corydora, probably peppered or common, but I'm unsure about the others. Good luck!
