I urgently need to find a new home for my one remaining Clown Loach. He is not doing at all well without his buddies and I fear that he will not survive. He spends most of the day lying on his side but seems to be swimming okay other times . If it wasn't for the fact that CL do lay on their sides quite a lot, I would think that he was very ill. However, I'm really not sure.
He needs to be with other CL so I would need someone to prove to me that they were doing this.
I don't want any money for this fish , I just want somebody to care for him and give him a good home with other CL's

Thanks, I'm not expecting anyone on here to take them because nobody really lives close to me, I am right down in Devon.I think I will probably have to have a word with some of the local fish stores, there are quite a few in the area

Hi boss. I have about 10 clown loach at the moment. Varying from 3 to 6 inches. I dont live near devon but my g-friends nan lives down there in exmouth and we are visiting next bank holiday weekend (approx 2 weeks time). The only problem is getting it back to mine as the journey usually takes about 4 hours due to bad traffic. Whats your thoughts? I suspect it too far a distance

Yes, that's quite a long time. Having said that, I got them from Trimar in Camborne and I had them shipped through the post. I believe they use liquid oxygen but don't hold me to that. They also putheated bags of water in the packaging.
It's a bit of a difficult one. I don't want to say it's okay because it's not something I've ever done myself. The longest I've transported fish is around half an hour.
it's certainly a nice offer and will be so good if he could go to a home to be with some of his own

They were in my 125 gallon tank and I had to put them in the 300 gallon. Believe me, I feel absolutely terrible about what happened to them, if only I'd left them where they were.

i can say that i have moved my oscars and my pleco a total distance of 3 1/2 hours which was all driving and they did fine i had a huge tub for them and before i made the move i put both air stones in the water for an hour and they did fine during the trip. but i know fish stores here in the states do have battery operated air pumps too so its an option for a long travel. just a lil info from my experiences for ya.

I have lost my mind be back when I find it, maybe.

What happened to them?
I will look on the web in the next couple days to see what they say about transporting fish. A friend of mine has a battery operated air pump with air stone so lack of oxygen is not a problem. I also have a polystyrene box
