a good picture would help us analyze your problem.

raise temp to 86 degrees old money and add pure salt with no caking agents ...one tbs per 5 gals ...keep it there for 5 days then slowly reduce temp back to 80 and waterchange 50%

As said raise temperature to 30c and leave it there for 6 days after spots have gone.

Or you can add a white spot treatment, remove any carbon from the filter(in fact do this anyway)
I can't get no sleep

i have read about what they call a DIP.(i thinks thats the name)

Now they say you should not use salt in your tank if you have scaleless fish, some pple do..(i have a crayfish)..

So they would recommend in that sitution,,a DIP..(i personally like this idea,,treat one fish and not tank)

a DIP is 1 galon tank water,4 teaspoons of aquarium salt(make sure Non iodized salt)
put fish in for anywhere 5 to 30 minutes watching very closely...
(plz double check this info before attemping on your fishes)

the only problem with using a dip is you might aid with the fish you are dipping but the ick will still be present in your tank. if you have tankmates that are suseptable to salt then your best option is to move them to another tank and treat the main tank as bgh has suggested.
Warning..I will offend you at some point!!!

wardleys ick away works well most of the time. active ingredient is malachite green.

not sure how the crayfish will like it tho.
