ha ha ha... that is normal. even if the oscar have other foods, they love
to grab moving target. even tin foil. remember my Glutton, he grab one of my
oscar upfront while feeding them. what puzzle me then was that the victim
is almost half of his size! the irony did not stop there... he grab another
o two days later..... leaving my Survivor alone. OSCAR is really vicious
eater especially during juvenile stage. tin foil will eventually release
at the anus with the pooh.

If the fish is like a human, the foil should just pass through and then be deposited in a bowel movement because obviously the body will not process it.

As long as the foil doesnt get stuck then it will pass through your oscar. If it gets stuck then there isnt much you can do

Usually fish spit out things that they recognise as non-food, I havent heard of one eating something like this. Can you keep us posted on what happens please
I can't get no sleep

i am not sure about non-food gettin stuck in the belly....
recently, i had remove ally pebbles substrate to make my tank
look clear.... a day after, i see a lot of pebbles inside my tank.
i ask everybody at home including my 5 year old grand daughter if they
put or throw in some pebbles....but nobody did....

while watching my fishes after feeding, i see the biggest one poohing....
and to my surprise, a small pebble was embedded in the pooh that make
a light thud sound when it hit the bottom glass... thus i confirm they
have some pebbles in their belly....

i used to watched my fishes during feeding time. they compete
extensively and grab the foods as if there is no more. they do
spit out some gravel / pebbles after ward, thus i never thought
they had taken in some rocks inside.

Hi,

My oscars are definately typical oscars! Yesterday,I opened the cover to put some thawed lance fish in and one of the oscars jumped about 2 inches out of the tank. I didn't expect that!!
