Our Oscar tank is 125 gallon, we have 3 Oscar fish, 2 Jack Dempseys, a convict, and a tin foil barb. Two Pleco's also
The Middle size oscar lays on the bottom of the tank, his gills stop moving every once in a while. he rubs himself on the rocks also. All the fish are acting weird, I sprayed for fleas and didn't cover the tanks (BIG MISTAKE) they all have cloudy scales and are acting weird. we did a 50% water change after we realized you weren't supposed to spray the flea spray around the tanks. we cleaned all the filters, every part that would come off the tank, all the glass, (no chemicals used). It wasn't a bomber, it was just spray.

HIGH RANGE PH: 7.8
AMMONIA:0
NITRATE:0
NITRITE:0

WE DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO, SOMEONE PLEASE HELP

at least we know it is due to poisoning.....
1) large water change will do....
2) raised the spray nozzle to create more agitation in the water...
3) add pure salt at 1 tbs per 5 gal water salt ration.....
4) install carbon filter to help remove the remaining poison

how did you clean the filter? tap water??? if it is, you just kill the good bacteria in it.... an additional injury to the fishes....

what kind of salt?

we've had it about two and a half months, the whole tank, we put algae destroyer in it to get rid of brown algae, how do we get nitrates? we first noticed the brown algae on the white medium rocks we had in the tank, then we removed most of them because it was just going crazy. the rock doesn't look that bad now....

nitrate is a by-product of ammonia and nitrites from the waste of your fishes
processed by the good bacteria in the filter.

aquarium salt or pure sea salt will do.... others uses Epsom salt.

i hate to say this... but as a former exterminator, your and pardon my french here but your f******. nothing u can do but do some water changes and wait it out and do water changes.

killed off a batch of my own goldfish on accident spraying cynoffWP with suspendSD and Nylar Growth inhibitor. i cant say for sure what you sprayed, but most of the flea poison im aware of is totally lethal to marinelife.

daily water change will give you a chance to save them. increase agitation
will help to have more oxygen dissolve while salt will help sooth and
comfort the fishes.....(dissolve the salt in a bucket before applying)

buddy if you sprayed it on the 5th than i would bet its unrelated. those toxins act pretty quickly. i dont know what to tell you.

can you tell me the chemical you sprayed? i can research it in my bugman book and let you know the environmental hazards of it.

Semi related question...what about air freshener? will that hurt them?
If you can't beat them...arrange to have them beaten!

this is a generally safe statement, any aerosol is BAD for your fish. you dont want chemicals anywhere near your fish, even the most innocent looking thing can kill your fish. i lost a kenyi after i wasnt thinking and forgot to feed him and fed it just after i put on some deodorant. dead within 20 minutes because i didnt wash my hands. i dont know for 100% thats what killed it, but it was doing just fine before then died suddenly and i noticed had just a little bit of residue from the stick's container on my hands.

here is a safe statement: if you have to ask, dont try it.
